Air Duct Cleaning Technician - Kansas City Metro

Job Description

The Air Duct Technician will provide quality air duct cleaning and related services to customers. The Air Duct Technician will assist Air Duct Manager and coworkers to complete jobs safely, through effective communication and following NADCA STANDARDS. The incumbent will also identify and estimate the quantity of materials needed to complete a job and estimate how long a job will take to complete.
  • Prepare the van each day, providing inventory and inspection of equipment (i.e. ladder pre-inspection), as well as cleaning, organization and restocking of the van daily.
  • Drive Red Carpet Restoration vehicle in accordance with state laws, speed limits and Red Carpet Restoration safety standards.
  • May assist with direction to customer’s location and may serve as a spotter behind the van, during all van backing procedures.
  • Survey and complete pre-inspection of the jobs and advise the customers.
  • Discuss in detail with customer the work to be completed before work is performed.
  • Assist in the set-up/tear-down of equipment.
  • Productively and safely move furniture to prepare the home for cleaning.
  • Mark the position of each damper.
  • Remove all registers and returns, seal in preparation of the duct cleaning.
  • Clean Air Handling Unit to include the blower motor, coils and outside of the unit.
  • Clean and mark if needed, all registers and returns, then place back in the original position.
  • Vacuum and clean all registers.
  • Assist in the cleaning of the air ducts.
  • Check auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues and stokers, following blueprints.
  • Assist in clean-up of work area and account for all tools and equipment being returned to the truck before departure from the customer’s home.
  • Assure and assist partner in properly securing all equipment in truck at completion of each job.
  • Inform and promote additional product/services such as filters, UV lights, Dryer vents, as well as retail carpet cleaning
  • Complete necessary paperwork (invoice and truck log) in detail as required by company
  • Perform check-in duties as trucks report back to office. Responsible for cash reported on cash turn-in sheet.
  • Provide hands-on training to subordinates and new hires in van set-up, cleaning procedures, safety procedures, sales techniques, company policies and procedures, etc.
  • Perform branch opening and closing duties as needed. Responsible for branch keys and alarm codes.
  • Assist management in planning and conducting morning meetings.
  • Rotate on-call duties with management and respond to emergency work.
  • Respond to courtesy calls with more difficult situations.
  • Adhere to all company rules, policies and procedures including, but not limited to, the Employee Handbook, Safety Policy, and Air Duct Cleaning Manual and NADCA STANDARDS as taught in company training.
  • Inspect and test system to verify system compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions.
  • Report to office as requested by management for such items as job totals, add-on, mileage, meter, etc.
  • Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
  • Recommend, develop, and perform preventive and general maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing and vacuuming equipment, and changing filters.

Outdoor sales, carpet and tile tech (Panama City, Florida)

Pay Structure: Starting $18.00/hour

The primary function and focus of this position requires motivated, hardworking individuals seeking opportunities to strive and be leaders in the restoration service industry. This includes sales, for all types of floor cleaning (carpet, tile, wood, concrete, natural stone, etc.), stretching & repairs, and water restoration.

Essential Duties:

The following statements describe the principal functions of this job and its scope of responsibility but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements.

1. Outdoor sales. – Interact daily with all new or existing clients to improve communication and acquire more sales for the company. This is a “boots on the ground” effort to acquire new leads and accounts. Expectation of leads is 25 per day during the beginning until truck schedule does not allow for such leads to be acquired.

2. Carpet and Tile cleaning tech: Be diligent and attentive to the customer’s needs to ensure all expectations are met. Perform the duties and requirements of a carpet and tile cleaning technician including operation of equipment, driving to and from jobs, use and knowledge of all chemicals, and procedures for proper techniques in carpet and tile. All continuing education will be required to keep up with the newest and best procedures.

3. Equipment Maintenance: Daily cleaning and maintenance of truck mounted unit. Including dialing cleaning and flushing of holding tank, oiling of machine. Proper cleaning and upkeep of hoses and wands. Cleaning and maintenance of portable extraction units. Approximately 1 hour a day dedicated to maintenance and upkeep including fueling of equipment. Maintain all air movers, dehumidifiers and air scrubbers as needed, Organization and cleaning of carpet cleaning area of warehouse. Washing of truck used in daily operation of duties. Restocking required materials to perform job duties adequately.

4. Inventory of supplies: Keep a weekly inventory of all chemicals, supplies and equipment needed to perform duties as a carpet and tile technician.

5. Invoicing and App operation of House Call Pro: Ensure all work orders are completed in a timely, efficient, profitable, and effective manner. All invoicing for residential work to be performed in the field at time of service, Operation of House call pro app to be performed in the field at the time of service. All invoices must be printed and submitted to management. Large commercial accounts with multiple properties must have a printed copy of invoice to insert into file

6. Delivery and pickup of equipment for emergency response: Deliver air scrubbers, air movers, and dehumidifiers as needed to perform dry out in emergency response situations.

7. Water extraction: Perform water extraction services during flood and or emergency water response events. Using truck mount, portable extraction equipment and trash pumps.

8. Hourly timecards: Time must be kept precisely for billable hours, starting time at the warehouse to pick up truck is 7:30 am. Hours must be turned in every Thursday by end of day. Paychecks will be distributed Saturday morning between 8-10 am for hourly work. A min of 30 min per day for lunch will be deducted for all days where there is over 4.5 hours billed.

9. Other duties: Perform additional duties as assigned, including cross-training in other functional areas to cover absences and assist with larger jobs when necessary.

Additional commissions and other incentives:

Ø Emergency response – $40.00 per emergency call + hourly pay

Monday – Friday: Hours of emergency response 7pm – 7 am

Saturday 7pm to Monday 7 am

Ø Commissionable Pay – 10% upsell on job site sales

Any upsell upon arrival to jobsite such as deodorizer, additional work, carpet stretching, stain removal and any additional work will pay out at 10 percent of the additional work. To be calculated from the first day of the month till the last day of the month. Any additional commissions will be paid once per month on the 10th day of the month for work paid by the end of the previous month

Ø Cell phone: $30.00 To be paid 1 time per month for cell phone usage paid at the same time of commissions for additional work on the 10th of each month

Education:

Ø High School diploma (or G.E.D.)

Ø 2+ years of manual labor experience preferred, but not required

Ø IICRC/Restoration experience preferred
